What is “unburdened bodywork”?
In the years that I have been practicing, learning, and growing as a therapist, I am drawn more and more to the subtler work of craniosacral therapy and visceral mobilization. I feel it truly captures the philosophy that, in shedding our
burdens of past traumas (physical, spiritual, emotional, generational), we can become lighter and freer, understanding where we come from and where we are going, giving ourselves the gift of eyes that can look inward, knowledge
that we are beings of infinite beauty, soul, and energy.
“Unburdened” means that I devote myself to service. “Unburdened” means that this work is client-centered. “Unburdened” means that you have a choice to set yourself free, to lay down the
old habits and patterns and stuckness that hold you in bondage to the past. “Unburdened” gives you a pathway forward.
Let go and be free.

I believe that all bodywork is best approached with these 5 principles:
HUMILITY
CURIOSITY
PATIENCE
KINDNESS
LOVE
Humility — I approach your experience in this body with great respect for everything you have gone through in order to make it to this day.
Curiosity — I allow your body's lived experience to reveal itself to me by staying open-minded, asking questions, and finding ways for you to access your own body's innate wisdom.
Patience — Bodies do not like to be forced into compliance. Instead, we invite beneficial change, and allow time for response. There is never a rush.
Kindness — To be touched with kindness can, by itself, be transformative. If you have experienced touch as transactional, unwanted, painful, unpleasant — you can relearn to trust that being touched can be caring, kind, undemanding,
and even pleasant.
Love — I aim to create an atmosphere of acceptance and universal love for my clients. I believe this is holy work, so it is a sacred responsibility to my clients to offer a space in which to find yourself in your healing journey.
That being said, craniosacral therapy is profoundly deep work. It can upend your life. It has done so to me. Even if the only thing I may do is hold your head for an hour, things can unwind and results are unpredictable.
Clients may experience what seem to be outsized reactions to seemingly minimal work. In this way, I am akin to a gardener. In order for a garden to flourish, the weeds must be pulled, the ground cleared, the rocks exposed.
Then it is up to the seeds, the plants, and the Universe whether or not things sprout, grow and bear fruit. If you understand that, we may be a good fit. Please call me for a free consultation prior to making any appointments.
